Are you interested in the power of persuasion, critical thinking and a good debate?
At the Toronto Debating Society we provide a forum for the lively exchange of ideas on a wide variety of topics from the whimsical to the serious.
Whether you’re trying to improve your speaking skill or simply enjoy the thrust and parry of good argument you’ll find plenty of opportunity here.
Amid the noise and bluster of our time we provide a quiet haven of dialogue where you’ll always get equal time and often the last word. Our impromptu sessions provide members and visitors alike with the opportunity for entertaining and humorous contributions at the podium.
We are Toronto’s oldest public debating society. We meet every other Tuesday from September to May at The Runnymede United Church just north of Bloor West Village at 7:30 pm.
Attendance is free, all are welcome.
